The Matterhorn
Edition Nº 2/5 & 1 a.p.
At 4,478 metres above sea level, the Matterhorn (Italian: Monte Cervino or Cervino; French: Mont Cervin or Le Cervin) is one of the highest mountains in the Alps.
Because of its distinctive shape and its history of climbers, the Matterhorn is one of the most famous mountains in the world and a landmark of Switzerland.
The mountain stands in the Valais Alps between Zermatt and Breuil-Cervinia. The east, north, and west faces are on Swiss territory, while the south face is in Italy.
This work shows the Matterhorn's imposing presence over the snow-covered Swiss Alps. The incredible orange tones of the sunset make this piece a festival of awakening colours and sensations. From right to left, the viewer feels the Matterhorn move, coming out of the wall and then returning to its original position.
A jewel of an eye-catcher for any room.
